Why We're Not Content Creators

I've said this before in a previous post but I feel like I've fleshed this newfound understanding a little bit more.

(I feel like that doesn't happen as often as it should in the world today but that's neither here nor there.)

I dunno if I'm alone in feeling this pressure but it feels as though your digital presence bears more weight than it should. I scroll and see folks posting consistently - some garner a following, others are alone in their expression (and still having fun). All devote time to being digitally present and, as much as it helps a business propel forward... I can't keep up.

Our ministry is creating authentic experiences in-person. And for now, our audience is our kids, our kin, our friends, and our community.

Yes, we create content but that's not all we do and that's not all that we are.

I dedicate time and attention to those in my presence but presence is precious.

When I'm mothering, I'm mothering. When I'm homesteading, I'm homesteading. When I'm networking, I'm networking. And 9 times out of 10, I don't want to do it with a phone out and a mic acting like it's got a seat at the table.

That's too much work fr and I don't want to lose myself in getting things perfect and constantly needing to show proof.

And I choose to be fully present here even if it means that little is known about us on social media...

But I promise we're real and I promise we're out here in these streets trying.

I just know that we're not alone in this. I know there are folks out there doing what they see others are getting paid to ... day in day out. Just for the joy of it... Who could give a f&#k less how many followers and likes they got... and I want y'all to know : we see y'all.

This is a reminder to folks who don't feel seen but know they're trying their best, who don't fit into the social media mold despite living the life that's glamorized on socials.
