Beauty In The Unfinished

It's a crazy thing creating a website. On one hand, you're given tools to create a site with much more ease than, say, a mere 3 years ago? But on the other hand, I can't help but notice how there's always pressure to seek the attention of viewers and followers - life feels more engagement-heavy than necessary. And they always want to see a beginning, middle and end.

I'm not here for that.

I choose to be intentional.

I choose to be authentic.

I choose to be organic in my brainstorming and my execution.

And sometimes that means things will go unfinished.

I used to try to keep up with trends. Trying my hardest to look the part despite the stress, the pressure and the conflict that comes up behind the scenes.

I literally can't.

Maybe I'm too old. Maybe I've unlearned some things but I do know it feels a lot better to create something, to share it, even if it isn't polished or finished.

Too often are we conditioned to expect finished products. Makes sense in certain contexts but not every single situation calls for that.

This site... it's not that kinda place. It's unpolished. It's unfinished. It's a living project. The homestead has taught me that some things will go undone, incomplete or even obsolete...and that has to be okay or you'll be fighting an uphill battle trying hard to appear complete.

You're not gonna be truly finished until you're dead.

So do things over, do things your way, do things slowly and intentionally and do things for you.

You, yourself are an unfinished project...and still, you're beautiful, too, no?
